Christmas is coming …

Since setting up as a business, I’ve sold a few prints and the cards are now selling well. Maybe you are thinking about ordering a print for Christmas, or would like a few seasonal cards of St Monans in the Snow, robins and other wildlife?

If so, please note that I don’t yet carry a big stock. I have a handful of prints to let people see what photos look like on canvas or aluminium, and I can print smaller glossy photos, but if I need to order prints, that takes a few days, and it may take longer as Christmas approaches. Likewise, I have a few hundred cards, but if I get big orders, it will take a few days to restock.

So if you are thinking about ordering a print or cards, please let me know sooner rather than later … thanks.

Copper Reflections, Aluminium Print

This is the latest print available from Imagenic.

It’s experimental – the first one I’ve had printed on aluminium. Looking at those copper-coloured reflections in the water, this picture seemed an obvious candidate for the process.

The result is a sharp and reflective image that in the right light has an impression of depth within the picture that needs to be seen to be appreciated – so if you are in the St Monans area and would like to see it, let me know.

I also have some samples of canvas prints, including the St Monans Landmarks and the St Monans in the Snow panoramas featured in previous posts.

The above print on aluminium at 60cm x 40cm is currently available at £80

Seasons Greetings

Thanks to everybody who commented on the card designs. I have taken the ones that received the most positive feedback, and now present the Imagenic Christmas / winter range

All cards are blank inside for your message and so suitable for use at any time, but there is a winter theme that makes them particularly suitable for the festive season. The reverse of the card includes a title / collection name, logo and links to this website and photo blog posts that give more information about the images.

Panoramas (105 x 210 mm) – £1 each; ten for £6

A6 (105 x 148 mm) and square (135 mm) – 80p each; ten for £5

The following selections are available at £5 for ten cards

  • St Monans in the Snow – the 6 square cards, 2 of the Kirk at Sunset, plus 2 of the panoramas (your choice)
  • Robins (2 of each of 5 designs)
  • Nature (1 each of the robins, 2 squirrels, a chaffinch, a deer and a sunset heron on Elie beach)
  • Lucky dip – mixture of St Monans and nature cards

If you would like to order cards, please email or send me a message via the Imagenic facebook page / messenger.

The white stuff

As promised, some more photos of St Monans with lots of snow on the ground, harbour and roofs, with a view to getting feedback on what would make good seasonal greetings cards.

Including some text was suggested, so that has been done on a few – what do you think, would you prefer a picture with or without writing? (the imagenic logo is just there as an online watermark and will not appear on the photos when they are used for cards)

Of course, if you want to order personalised cards, the choice is yours … maybe your house or boat is in one of the photos and you want a batch with that design – if so, just ask.

And for a further option, any of the above can be squashed to fit the square card …

Tell me what you want …

What you really, really want …

A few folk have said they would like to have Christmas cards featuring local views. So I have been working on some designs that I can produce in small batches. Now I want feedback on what photos and formats people would prefer, and I’m asking you to give me that feedback and to tell me what you want via comments on this page, email or the social media to which this blog is linked.

The cards I have done so far are without any text or greeting, so that they are suitable for Christmas cards but could also be used on other occasions. Many of them are photographs of St Monans taken when the village was covered in a blanket of snow – white roofs, white roads and boats, creels and piers coated in white too. Some were even taken while the snow was falling … or in the mist at sunset …

And there are a few seasonal creatures too, some taken in St Monans. I mean, I couldn’t do a set of cards without including a wee robin. And I’m also branching out a bit with a design using a photo of a deer on a digitally painted background …

I have supplies of cards that I can print and fold to the following sizes: 135mm square (that’s about five and a half inches in old money); A6 size (148x105mm); and some that are 210x105mm (pretty much the standard DL envelope size). They will be supplied individually wrapped with an envelope. The starting price for the cards will probably be a pack of ten mixed designs of small cards for a fiver. If you want bespoke sizes, larger cards, glossy cards, bigger batches, etc., then (as with everything) speak to me and we’ll discuss the options.

Here’s another design featuring the Kirk, and I’ll post some more designs in another post – if I get your wants and comments, I’ll take them on board with further designs.
